Shimano DX Shoe
Shimano MP66B DX Shoe.
My shimano dx shoes have kept me in the saddle for well over a year now and still perform and protect (no they are not police shoes ) like they are just out of the box. They are strong, light and comfortable, they look gnarly and i think value for money.
Keeping this simple.......they needed almost zero maintenance applied to them apart from the odd wipe down and until now a new lace, they have seen an monsoon summer by without so much as a gurgle and with every other season sprinkled and roasted through them the dx's have yet to wave the white flag.
They have some nice little traits such as a big loop on the heel so you can fit your gloved fingers through it and slip the shoe on and with the high cut ankle support and the classic lace flap you are on to a winner.
Like everything in life the dx has it's downsides too .
The sole has very little grip in heavy mud and as an tiny inconvenience the lace flap can become slightly tedious and annoying when you are trying to tie your laces and it keeps on rebounding back...............but for a reasonably priced mtb shoe which looks quite cool clipped in or used on flats i would recommend them to anyone and as a result i would say for late 2006 and 2007 these have been the best piece of kit i have had the pleasure of buying and expect in 2008 nothing less.    Richie S
